In 2016, Peter Brown approached our CSU Small Business Development Center with a business plan in hand and a vision for his future. Peter, a former teacher, had a wholesale coffee business, Six Shooter Coffee and wanted to pursue expanding his business by opening up a coffee shop in the Waterloo Arts District of Cleveland. With a lot of focus and attention, our business advisors were able to help him create financial projections and a final, bank-worthy business plan.

On March 4, 2016 Peter opened his first location on Waterloo Road in the Arts District of Cleveland’s Collinwood Neighborhood. Since then, he has added a second location, a Roast Bar in the Flats West Bank, continued to expand his wholesale business and was been named to the Crain’s Cleveland Business 20 in their 20s List in 2017. Peter also created a cold brew product now offered in several retail locations including Target Stores.

Destiny is the founder of CLE Urban Winery, a fun, inviting, upscale boutique winery experience in the historic, urban setting of Cleveland Heights, Ohio. The CLE Urban Winery produces, serves and sells a wide variety of wine, all branded to honor and celebrate the city of Cleveland. CLE Urban Winery is a Federally Bonded Winery and sells their own hand-crafted wine exclusively. The company’s wine production facility, a signature Tasting Bar and primary retail outlet are located in the Cedar-Lee District at 2180B Lee Road In Cleveland Heights, Ohio.

Michel Nouafo

Michel E. Nouafo is the Vice-President of International Household Sales for Vitamix.   Michel’s origins and experience give him a rich and diverse cultural and professional background.  Born and schooled in Cameroon, Michel moved to France and then the US for his college education.  He graduated with an MBA in International Business from Bowling Green State University.  Following his education, he worked as a Business Consultant and a Financial Planner prior to joining Libbey Glass as an Export Sales Manager.  Michel held various positions at Libbey before he was promoted to the position of Vice-President, International Markets.  While working at Libbey, Michel also taught International Marketing classes at The University of Toledo.  Michel joined Vitamix in early 2011 and has been charged with helping the company grow its International Household business.

Christopher Smith serves as the senior onboarding resource for applicants seeking services and/or investment from JumpStart and its network of partners. His role involves engaging with early-stage and small business clients, identifying their service needs, providing value-added feedback, maintaining continued engagement with clients and partners to track continued progress made and making referrals within JumpStart, within the NEO ESP Network and to our other external services partners.
